NIAD Art Center values the health of our artists and our community, and we want to be in touch with you to let you know about steps we are taking to keep our community safe (especially our most vulnerable members).
In keeping with Bay Area school districts and what we predict will be the decision of Regional Center of the East Bay and the Department of Developmental Services, NIAD has decided to inform studio artists and their care providers that the Art Center will suspend services for artists as of Monday, March 16 and until further notice.
Our gallery will remain be closed as well (and all social events related to the gallery are cancelled until further notice.)
NIAD will communicate with the public via our website and social media the week before services resume; email list subscribers can expect an update the Thursday before NIAD reopens for artists and the public.
This decision has not been made lightly. We take it in proactive concern for the health of our community.
In addition to these measures, there are many additional steps that individuals can take to reduce the spread of COVID-19. For more information about the latest public health guidelines, we recommend visiting the website of the World Health Organization (WHO).
And although our studio operations are temporarily reduced, NIAD Art Center continues to stand with our community as we work together to navigate this challenge. We wish you all health and safety during this moment.
